What a fragrance really costs per ml

A price tag tells you what a bottle costs, not what the perfume costs. What you really pay for is each millilitre. This guide takes the price we list today for each size of well-known fragrances and divides it by the number of ml in the bottle, so you can see which size gives you the most perfume for your money.

It covers 40 fragrances we carry in two or more sizes. For 39 of them the biggest bottle has the lowest price per ml; for the other one a smaller bottle does. Where the biggest size has the lowest price per ml, it is a median of 37% less per ml than the smallest size.

How to read it

  • Price per ml = the size's price divided by its millilitres.
  • Best value = the lowest price per ml among the sizes in stock that day.
  • Only new, boxed, in-stock sizes are shown. Testers, gift sets and kits are not included.
  • Prices are in US dollars, before tax and shipping, and they change. The product page always has the current price and stock.
  • The best value per ml is not always the best choice: a smaller bottle is the better pick if you will not finish a bigger one.
